Here is the field info

And the accommodation / restaurant info

2 - Dates for team and individual registration In Rome, we presented a schedule with these dates.

There was a delay of two months because we had to change the place of the championship. But, from December, we will return to the original dates.

December 15th - WBC site (www.wbc2012.org) will be available. There will be informed everything about the championship. Also, there will be the registration form where throwers will give us special information as we can know them, their preferences, handicap accommodations, flight schedules etc.

March 20th – last date for team and individual registration

April 30th – last date for registration payment

May to October – marketing campaign

October – 15th World Boomerang Championship

3 – Price for team, individual, and also for friends and spectators, officials etc.

We are suggesting that each thrower pay €$600, including 10days (hotel, breakfast, lunch, dinner and registration tax). Maybe this value can decrease after fundraising.

As we are trying to get government support we’ll not charge spectators. There will be a day (October23rd) dedicated to community. Throwers will have th opportunity of teaching some children from public schools that will visit the field.

4 – List of jobs to do / team of people to help

We have a check list with all jobs/taks/needs. We can translate and send to you next week as you can check all items.

D’Angelo is providing the staff for the event. Clau and Jonny are responsible for that and they are reliable. Everything has been reported to me weekly for now. During the event, it’ll be done during the day. This way, I’ll be free to give throwers attention and to compete.

5 – Transport to and from field

There will be a van service (with translator) at the airport and at the bus station for all throwers to get to and back from the field.

Throwers will be organized in two or three groups, according to the arrival/departure schedule. This separation will be necessary as we don’t want throwers waiting for so long at the airport/bus station.

6 – Accommodation functions and food Everyone will stay at Pousada & Pequeiro Maeda.

Accommodation : after registration form, we will separate throwers according to countries, teams, etc…because there are chalets for 4 to 6 people.

Food : there’s a very big restaurant where throwers will have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some days and nights we will go out, according to the schedule.

7 – Field marking

It will be done one or two days before the event and I’m considering your help for that. We got 2 machines just for it. The machines made one complete accuracy circle in 20 minutes.

8 – Setup of tent and food and drinks to the field each day

There will be some different tents on the field :

- a) Grandstand for 500 people
- b) Reception : (1 table / 2 chairs / 1 notebook / 1 or 2 receptionists / umbrellas / stopwatches)
- c) Results : small tent (1 table / 2 chairs / 1 notebook / 1 printer / 1 responsible)
- d) Sound : small tent (1 table / 2 chairs / sound equipment / microphones / 1 responsible)
- e) Press : small tent (1 table / 2 chairs / 1 notebook)
- f) Exposition / Shop : medium tent (panels / 1 table / 2 chairs / shelves / 2 responsible)
- g) Throwers : medium tent (tables/chairs for each team / locker where they can keep their booms and other objects / board with throwers pictures/names and results)
- h) Food : large tent (tables / chairs / refrigerator (sandwiches, water, soft drinks and fruits) / juice machine / other products (chocolate, cereal bar, etc.) / board with throwers pictures/names and results – this is not the place for lunch….throwers will be driven to the restaurants everyday at lunch and dinner)
- i) Entertainment / Rest Room : medium tent (sofas / TV / magazines / newspapers)
- j) Staff : small tent (1 table / 2 chairs / 1 notebook / 1 printer / 1 responsible)

Besides, there will be security and first aids services.

9 – Registrations

In the first day (17), from 5 to 7 pm – there will be a table at the restaurant where throwers will confirm the registration, pay (if necessary) and receive their championship kit.

10 – Opening Ceremony

In the first day (17), from 8 to 11 pm – there will be a special place/room for the ceremony.

11 – Captains meeting

In the second day (18), from 8 to 10 am – there will be a special place/room for the meeting.

After that, throwers can check the field.

12 – Teams and individual competitions

Teams : from October 19th to 21st (throwers will stop from 12:30 to 2:30 pm for lunch and then 6:30 for dinner)

Individual : from October 24th to 26th (throwers will stop from 12:30 to 2:30 pm for lunch and then 6:30 for dinner)

13 – Adventure activities / São Paulo tour / Beach

There will be two days reserved for outgoings :

- October 22nd : we’ll go to Brotas, a city near Itu where we’ll have the opportunity to participate of different adventure activities.

- October 27th : we’ll go to São Paulo (city tour and visit main touristic places) and after lunch we’ll go to the beach.

14 – Lectures

- October 19th, 20th and 24th from 10 to 12 pm – some of the most important throwers will be invited to share their knowledge with all participants. It will be a very informal talk.

15 – IFBA Meeting

It will be on October 23rd from 10 to 12 pm – there will be a special place/room.

16 – Auction

It will be on October 25th from 10 to 12 pm – there will be a special place/room.

17 – LD Competition

It will be on October 28th from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm (pause for lunch).

18 – Closing Ceremony

It will be on October 28th from 8 to 12 pm – there will be a special place/room for the ceremony. We are preparing many surprises for this moment.

In this occasion, first, second and third places (teams and individual throwers) will receive medals and trophies. All throwers will receive a medal.

Everybody from staff and any other helper will receive a gift.

General Information :

Everybody will receive a kit which will contain some things like T-shirt, event folder, some gifts, championship manual, indication of nearest places for buying food and beer etc.

Judges : we are inviting the same judges from other championships : Mama Leone (Australia) and Diane (USA).

Of course, all of this structure will depend on fundraising but we have many and very good chances to get all money necessary.

Info de Roger Perry via Patrice Castel

Hello Throwers I know everyone is waiting patiently to find out what is happening in Brazil, I can tell you now that the field and accommodation is confirmed and that Ricardo will send an official letter to everyone over the next 2 weeks.

Please note the dates are the original ones and I have added the attachment but the exact times and events will be different but this will at least give you an idea.

Once again the field and accommodation links are here so please have a look it should be noted the accommodation is easy walking distance to the field and the restaurant can accommodate all of the throwers easily as they cater for large numbers for International polo and sporting events.

Very soon info will follow including website updates etc but please note it will be a few months before the organisers know an exact price for the throwers as Ricardo is in discussion with Government and large sponsors to offset thrower costs.

I appreciate that many people have security concerns in Brazil but this event is to be staged outside of Sao Paulo in a very good and safe area and all throwers officials etc will be picked up at the airport and transferred to and from the accommodation more will also follow on this.

Regards Roger.
